COVID-19 update

Steps to Reopen Office during Pandemic

According to the CDC, “to date in the United States, clusters of healthcare personnel who have tested positive for COVID-19 have been identified in hospital settings and long-term care facilities, but no clusters have yet been reported in dental settings or among Dental healthcare personnel”

At iCare Orthodontics, we will work hard to care for our patients while at the same time following all CDC guidelines to continue in our effort to fight the virus
These are Steps we will take for reopening of our practices:
1. We will Telephone Screen all patients and their family members for these symptoms prior to the appointment for these Covid-19 symptoms:
Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea
2. Request the patient limit the number of visitors accompanying the patient to the office. If possible, family members can wait in the car and come back in when we call.
3. Everyone must wear a mask upon entering the facility
4. All dental healthcare personnel will wear a mask and faceshield
5. We will take your temperature when entering the office
6. Patients will be asked to wash their hands before sitting down
7. Usage of preprocedural mouth rinses will be implemented
8. Patients will be more than 6ft apart from one another for non aerosol procedures
9. Patients will be in an individual treatment room for all aerosol procedures. A Personal patient protective pod with high evacuation suction will be used to Minimize droplets spatter and aerosols.
10. HEPA air filtration units with UV-C light will be used in treatment room
11. All surfaces will be cleaned with medical grade wipes
12. Protective barriers are installed at front desk counter

Even when we screen our patients for respiratory infections, inadvertent treatment of a dental patient who is later confirmed to have COVID-19 may occur. To address this, we would like to ask that you inform our offices if you develop symptoms or are diagnosed with COVID-19 within 14 days following the dental appointment.
